Campus topic 第五篇(学习问题)讲义P90

Excuse me, I need a copy of Steven Hakim’s brief history of time, and I don’t know where to look for it.
Did you check the status on the library’s computer?
I tried, but I couldn’t figure out what to do.

Sure, we can try to get it from another library.
Just fill up (out) this form and it should be here in three to five days, but it’ll cost two dollars.

Great! Now where do I write the astronomy course that I want to add?
Sorry, it’s too late to add a course. You can only add courses two weeks into this semester, and Friday was the last day.
But I am a senior, and if I drop a class without adding one, I won’t have enough credits to graduate.
So what you have to do then is get the professor’s approval and H find (have him sign) a special add form. Then bring it back to me, and I’ll put it through.
Ok, thanks. I hope I’ll be able to find them.

Tiny was there too and you are more likely to be able to read her notes.

做到这里,不得不说一件事情了。
我是用小马的听力讲义上的听写正确原文,来对照自己听写的正确性的。
讲义里面场景分类(下)的听力原文真的是很好,虽然自己在听的时候听不出来,但之后对照讲义再听录音,就会恍然大悟,并且学到一些东西。
但是,自从到分类场景(上),我发现讲义里的听力原文每篇几乎都有很多错误,甚至有10多处之多。不是因为我听力提高了,发现了错误,而是讲义里犯得错误是在是太简单了。
比如上面的Campus topic 第五篇(学习问题)讲义P90,录音里是I need a copy of XX,而讲义写成I need to copy XX。这个很简单听出来讲义写错了,而且按照上下文分析,这个人是要借一份某物的copy,而不是要copy某物。类似的明显错误在本文不下N次。不过这样的错误似乎也不影响文章的意思。
可是后来的错误更不好。录音里的What a release这一句,讲义上居然写了How to relife? 这句就算我没听出来是What a release,按照上下文也不可能是How to relife。
还有下面的Well, no one can ever decipher my hand writing.  讲义上写的是 no one can ever recite my hand writing. 说实话,录音里的decipher 这个单词我还不认识,但根据发音,绝对不可能是recite !我根据发音翻了很久字典,才认为这句中的单词应该是decipher ,即符合录音里的发音,又符合上下文的意思。
总共听了5篇分类场景(上)的文章,每篇都有很多这样的错误。
总感觉这个不像分类场景(下)那么严谨的风格,完全就是两个人写的。

我同意你的看法~~不知道小马同学是不是听累了,或者听太快写太快所以有些小错~我遇到一个我听着是syllabus讲义上写shortlist 我很莫名。。。不过自己知道就好啦~我现在把分类上主要用来做题,下用来听写^_^

我的材料是一本书,是上小马的课的讲义,我在这上面发出来的基本就是这个书上的东西。
据说小马过河有所有听力材料的原文,不过由于我有讲义,并没有去找那个链接。

哈哈,我也是觉得小马有点听累了,听的想插自己了的感觉,有些才写的不太准确。
貌似听力场景(上)不如听力场景(下)的音质清晰。
听力场景(上)是CBT的,听力场景(下)是PBT的,可能CBT的不太好录?呵呵

So you are going to be writing for the school newspaper?
Yeah, I’m excited about it. I am thinking about journalism of (as) a career.
Well, congratulations. How do they decide who to hire?
I had this being a writing sample. I used one of the essays I’ve written for a literature class. Then the editor assigned me a topic to write a short article about it.
What did you write about?
Actually, with a lot of fun, I wrote about the students’ play that has been performed this month.
Oh, I saw that play. The director is a friend of mine. It’s really causing a stir 轰动around here.
Yeah, I know. That’s what I wrote about: people’s reactions to it. It was really interesting.
Have you finished the article? Can I read it?
Sure, I just made a couple of copies, so you can have one.
Thanks. I wish I were a better writer. Looking (Working) for the paper sounds like fine.
Well, they’re looking to add one or two more photographers to the staff.
You are kidding. Maybe I’ll go over and apply.
If you want, I’ll walk over with you to the newspaper office and introduce you to the photography editor, and some of the other photographers.
That’ll be T (terrific). But can we go tomorrow? I have to go to math class. And if we go tomorrow, then I’ll have time tonight to gather a P (portfolio 选辑) of photographs to show them.
Sure, and maybe you should call and setup a time to meet them tomorrow.
Good idea. I’ll do that before I go to class.

Hi, Kevin, I haven’t seen you since beginning of the semester. How is your going?
Well, time (I am) a little overwhelmed. It’s strange. I always wanted to go to a big university like this, but now that I am here, I am not so sure. I mean the courses are interesting enough, but…
What’s bothering you then?
Well, after going to a small high school and knowing everybody, it’s pretty shocking to be in huge lecture halls with hundreds of students. I am (And) not one profess even knows my name.
I know that you mean. I thought I pretty lost myself last year.
But I know about something that might help. It’s called the mental (mentor 良师益友) group.
The what?
The mentor group. It’s like a support group. I joined last year when I was a first-year student.
So, what is it?
It’s basically professors and small groups of students getting together informally to discuss all kinds of subjects. You have a (the) chance to meet professors and other students.
Hmm, sounds worth well. But doesn’t it take up a lot of studying time?
Not really. You can’t study all the time, you know. And this is like a little break.
I guess you can (could) meet a professor whose course you might take later.
Exactly, that’s what happened to me. I am taking a psychology course is Professor Green. I didn’t know how interesting psychology was till I got to talk to him in the mentor group.
You support me into it. Is it too late to join?
I don’t think so. If I were you, I’ll go over to the dean’s office and sign up.
I was going to the library to return a book, but I can do that later, I guess.
