四月份要考试 坚持写作文:-)

Title: A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position.

It is recently said that a company is likely to build a large factory in our neighbourhood. In spite of the beneficial result it may reach, I am strongly opposed to the proposal.

Certainly, the factory will bring some good to our residents.Chances are that workers in our neighbourhood are to be in large need.In addition, The factory would give a boost to other businesses, such as shops, restaurants, which provide us with a more convenient life and make our neighbourhood more prosperous.

However, the advantages referred can be achieved by other means, while the relative disadvantages cannot be ignored.

The first and the most important reason of my opposition, can be seen obviously, is the pollution. It is not surprising that factory will cause damage to our environment. Water pollution, air pollution, soil pollution, all these can be found in a place full of factories or even just near factories.With the losts and lessons we have already gotten, how can we expose our environment, our health, our lives to factories? How can we stand a factory building near our community? For sake of health and lives, the factory should not be constructed near any community, but far away from resident area.

Another problem we should concern is the security. No wonder more people, local or not, will be attracted by the factory.Among them may be some with evil intentions. It is reported that communities situated near factories, supermarkets or other crowded places are three times more likely to be threatened by stealing or even robbing than others tranquil and peaceful. The prosperous may in turn lead to lost in security. Accordingly, the factory is supposed to move to the remote.

What's more, traffic congestion may be severe as more cars and people are to be brought by the factory. In additon, traffic means parking problem. If there's not enough parking at the factory, people might occupy the space near our homes. Undoubtedly, bad traffic will also spoil the environment and security. To prevent these problems, we should oppose the factory.

It is, therefore, obvious that the disadvantages of the factory are outweigh its advantages for the community nearby. In consideration of our environment, our security, our traffic, some measures need to be taken to prevent the factory.
