It seems like only yesterday that I were sitting where you are, just finishing my first year ofw-[,FWw
Medical school. and wondering if I really get a chance to use my new own knowledge on real life’s petient, well, I have a good news for , you don’t have to wait until your xx xxxxxx year of medical school to get some hand on experience . the dean has invited me here to tell you about university’s rural opportunity program. If you enroll in this program , I can have opportunity this summer ,after your first year of medical school , just spend from 4 to 6 weeks ob serving and assisting a real physician like me in the small rural community .you wont’t have to compete with other student for time and attention and you can see what life as country doctor is really like . the program was designed to encouradge medical students like youselfs to consider career s in rural community that are still understaffed , it seems that medical student were afraid to go for rural family for two reasons first they don’t know much about it ,second specialists in the citys usually make more money but on the up-side in rural practice doctor can really get to know patient, and be respected members of the community . I participated in program when it first started and spended six weeks in small rural town, I tell it’s really great , I got to work with real patient I watch the birth of child assisted and accident victim ,had a lot really practical hands-on experience all in the summer and to my surprise I found that country life has a lot to offer that city does’t no pollution or traffic jams for instance d ?+x)oI d(ex
my pionon make me want to work whereI needed and appreciated I don’t miss the city at all

In the few minutes that remain of today’s class, I’d like to discuss next week’s schedule with you , because I’m presenting a paper at conference in detroit on Thursday , I won’t be here for either Wednesday’s or Friday’s class . I will , however be here for Monday’s . next Friday , a week from today is a midterm exam . marking the halfway point in the semester . professor Andrew has agreed to administrate the exam . in place of usual Wednesday’s class I’ve arranged an optional review the section , since it’s optional , attendance will not be taken. However attending classis would be a good idea for those who worry about the midterm so remember afer class next midterm Friday

Good afternoon I’m here to talk about career with our airline we are specially interested in re cruiting people to fill openings for flight attendants I3gc^$q
s#U
First of all, to work as flight attendant with us , I must be accepted into our training program with so many people applying , it ‘s not easy to be selected from the thousands of applications , we will receive annually we choose fewer than thousands of people for training so we require experience serving the public and it also helps if I ‘ve earned some college credite'x8S1R){!CPs
Also not everybody who gets acceptd into the training program makes it through

The course meets six days a week for five weeks , the training includes extensive class room work in such subjecets as first aid and passenger psychology as well practical training in flight procedures and meal service a lot of graduaters say that our flight attendants develop the skills of a nurse , a head waiter , and a public relations executive,

But as a flight attendants myself , I can say that all of our hard works is worth it of course I get travel throuhtout our country and the airline pays all of our expense while I am away from our base station and what I like best of all makes friends with people from all ronund the country ![b?,NE2e8D F

I need to make sure you understand how to get housing for next year , when you entered as first-students this year , the school assigned you to a dorm and a roommate but next year as a returning student you choose both your dorm and your roommate , but whether or not , you actually get to live in your first choice depends on what number you and your roommate draws in the lottery system this system gives priority to the students who have been here longest fourth-year students get the first block of numbers third-year get the second block ,and second- year like your be get the third the lower number you draw , the sooner you choose number one get fisrt choice number two get second choice and so on you can use either your own or intended roommate number to make room choice , if your roommate for next year has been at the school longer than you have , there will be a better block of numbers and so have better number than any second- year students but most of you will probably rooming with "Zr J:_Wuj}J

Good evening my name is pan jones and on behalf of the modern dance club I ‘d like to welcome you to tonight’s program the clud is pleaed to present the tv version of xxxxx twyla tharp rock ballet this video version of ballet has been even more success ful with audience than original theater production it includessome ani mation slow motions stop acttion freezes that really help the audiences understand the dance'NA$K&u2n
o,d.f'm
The title of the pieces refers t5o saint Catherine who die on a wheel in 300 ad nowdays a Catherine wheel is also a kind of firework it looks something like a pinwheel anyway the dance is centainly full of fire works you will see how t xxx explores one family’s attempts to confront tne violence in modern life the central symbol of work is pine apple but exactly what it present has always s created a lot of controver sy as you watch see if you figure it out O
C8jJ9Ot)S6X
The music for this piecei s full of rhythmic energy of rock music , it was composed by david byme of the rock band talking heads and the lead dancer in this version was sara who is perfectly suited to tharp’s adventure choreography #~^x
cnTSztyD
Following the vedio dancer teacher park will lead to a discussion about symbolism ms tharp used we hope you can stay for that so enjoy tonight’ video

Monticello&f`/HV2qqR&`
Before starting our tour of Monticello ,I ‘like to give you some historical fact s that might help appreciate what you see today even more ql{GE
Monticello was very much lovely home of Thomas jefferson for 40 years Jefferson who was of course present also a great reader at language enthusiast he read widly and different subjects including architecture he was’t formly training architecture but as a recult of his study and observation of other building s he was able to help design and build the house
5in)`RDeF0VV
He chose tne site himself naming the estate Monticello which means a little mountain in Italian in fact many of ideas behind the design also came from Italian artchitect xxx
:ve+JZ&}:l
Who lived in 16 century and who has a great influence on ar of England
h hy,~2K
Jefferson however ignored one of principles that is not to build in the high place monticello’s elevation made the transportation of What was need at house for example especially difficult but the view from this would not be as spectacular if j has follow xx advice there really on boundry between the houses and nature arouded it so j was able to look out on his beloved estate of Virginia from this wonderful yantage point there go on library _Vk`b\[2d
比上篇 好写一些 可能熟悉 Thomas jefferson的缘故

Thacting
A\0Yk1t3Frw
Welcome to the four winds historical farm where traditions of the past are preserved for visitors like you today our master thatche will begign giving this barn behind me a sturdy thatch roof able to withstand heavy winds and last up to a hundred years how do they do it well in nutshell thatching involves covering the beams of rafters the wooden skeletion of a roof with reads and straw our taatche here have harvest their own natural material for the job
w^GHk)R/Ow
The bundles of water reeds you see lying over there beside the barn%j2rtd0KxI0H
Thatching is containly uncommon in united states today I gress that is why so many of you have come to seethis demonstration but it wasit always that way in 17century the colonists here thatched their roofs with reeds and straw just as they had done in England after a while though they began to replace the thatch with wooden shingles ‘cause wood was so plentifui and eventually other roofing materias like stone slate clay tiles came into use
_)sI-Co2v
It’s a real shame hat most people today don’t realize how strong and long lasting a thatch roof is ,Z-J R1{K'Wh+vJ
In ireland where the thatching is still practiced the roof can survive wind of up to one hunded ten miles per hour that is ‘c straw and reed are so flexible they bend but don’t break away like other materials can another advantages is that the roofs can keep house cooler in summer and warmer in winter and then of coure threis the roof longevity the average is 60 can last up to a hundred with these reasons to start chatching roof again it wouldn’t it be wonderful to see this disppering craft return to popularityq1?#Dl}C
