[size=10.5pt]The first television set of the world can be traced back to nearly 80 years ago, when Philo T. Famsworth, an American inventor, televised a motion picture to people. With the development of the modern society, television has become a household device, having huge impacts on nearly every aspect of modern society. And nowadays, many children spend their much spare time on watching television. Fot this fact, some people commented that watching television is bad for children. For my part, compared with its negative consequences, the benefical influence can keep the weather. [/size][size=10.5pt][/size]

[size=10.5pt]First and foremost, many scientific and educational programs can be seen form the television, which can give children much useful and educational knowledge that cann't be gain in the schoolbooks. One recommendable program named [/size][size=10.5pt][i]Discovery, [/i][/size][size=10.5pt]which my little brother like very much,[/size]
[size=10.5pt]is perfect example. Whenever asked why he is so fascinated with this program, he responded with his eyes blinking that he got to know much knowlege such as the anecdote of the animal world which his classmates never know. And without knowing the begining time, he got one nickname of Live Cyclopedia. And all of these inspired his interest of study, inpelling him to pursue the answer of his question not only form the schoolbooks. Form this we can see, watching television is not bad for children and it depends on the program which they see.[/size][size=10.5pt][/size]

[size=10.5pt]Other than the the scientific knowledge, many worshipful qualities also can be learned form the television. I vividly remebered the film named Forrest Gump that I sam form the channel CCTV-6, which is the film-channel in China, during my middle school age. The famous catchphrase in this film "Life was like a box of chocolates, you never  know what you're gonna get" letted me know the future was sealed, and we should held calm frame of mind to prepare facing the unknown future whether it will be optimistic or the opposite. Except that, I also learned the quality of insistence form Gump. And form the story of Gump, I got to know that with a dogged detemination and an uncanny ability to concentrate on what we was doing without being distracted by the surrounding, we can be success.[/size][size=10.5pt][/size]

[size=10.5pt]In addition, watching telecision can open children's eyes and mind to let them know the scenery outside their world. Maybe children have few chances to travel around the world when they are young. By watching some program about the whole world, they can see much different sight, know dissimilar customs, and can also learn some other languages.[/size][size=10.5pt][/size]

[size=10.5pt]To put it in a nutshell, watching television have a variety amount of advantage to the children. Them can not only learn much useful knowledge, but also study some honorable characters such as insistence form Gump. And they can look around the world without going out but just watching television.[/size]
