[b]It has rencently been announced that a new restaurant may be built in yur neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specfific reasons and details to support your answer.[/b]
One of the most famous local paper reports that a new restaurant will open in my neighborhood. It says the new restaurant is expected to improve local people’s lives. Personally, I strongly support what the paper claims, as the new restaurant to be located in my community will definitely benefit not only the government but also individual here. Here are my reasons:
First of all, the new restaurant could bring in nice tax revenue to the local government. The address of the new restaurant lies at is the commercial center of my city with huge people flow everyday, like Wangfujin in Beijing or Time Square in New York. That means there will be sufficient potential consumers round with a conservative estimate of 1000 customers per day on average. With smart management, the restaurant will gain considerable profits, supposing every people spend $20 for a dinner here, the gross income will add up to $20,000. We all know that the more money a business earns, the more contribution it makes to the government revenue. Consequently, the local administrator could utilize the money to help the poor people or the homeless child by given them some basic living stuffs.
Beside the revenue increase of local government, the restaurant could also supply many job opportunities for the local people. The rate of unemployment is always a big problem for local government. A survey published by the Labor Department shows that the unemployment rate of our city has been as high as 15% for one year. The government releases a variety of measures to overcome the tricky problem but has unapparent improvement. Under this tough circumstance, it is perceptible that the job position supplied by the new restaurant will be an ideal chance for many poor jobless inhabitants to back work and put down the jobless rate to some extent. The paper said that the restaurant will recruit more than 100 staffs in the coming week. I believe it will help a lot for both the local administrator and individuals without job.
Last but not least, the appearance of the new restaurant will obviously enrich the lives of local people. Before, the community here is dominated by the fast food restaurants such as KFC and Mcdonald’s which are generally for the people working here. Actually, fried potatoes and coca cola are not a healthy and nutritional diet for our everyday dinner table. Luckily, the new restaurant will improved the situation by serving diverse food, such as Kong Pao chicken from Chinese Food and kimchi stew from South Korea Food etc. These new tastes not only enrich our daily menu but also make our diet healthier.
In summary, the new restaurant to be opened in two weeks is definitely good news. It will bring in considerable revenue for local government, provide numerous job opportunities and enrich local people’s lives. According to me, I absolutely look forward to the opening of the new restaurant in my neighborhood.
