[font=微软雅黑]In our modern society, especially in the informationera, there is a tendency that young people sacrifice every thing to enter acollege or university, which is even more obvious in China. So here comes the questionwhy people go to universities. Some scholars have conducted a survey to findout the answer. Accordingly we know that there are a variety of reasons thatdrive people to go into the campus, say, more experience, more knowledge and soon. As for me, there are two reasons why people enter a university.[/font]
[font=微软雅黑]The first one, and basically the most important one isto prepare for work. In our society, people need to be capable of handling the severecompetition in order to make a living. The university is just the right place forpeople to get prepared for it. In the campus, we learn the latest and the mostupdated knowledge which is hard to gain by ourselves out of the classroom. Forexample, a student, major in computer science, can often write better computerprograms than the one who does not have a chance to study at a university. Andthe professors can also give people appropriate guidance which prevents studentsfrom going astray. Above all, a student, graduating from a university, can geta diploma which, needless to say, provides a great advantage over the one who doesnot have it, when hunting for a job.[/font]
[font=微软雅黑]The second reason is that people can get more peer-friendsin the campus. Some people value highly of friends. They hold the opinion thatto make friends is the most important reason that they enter a university. Andas is known, a friend is the most important resource that people have. In theuniversity, we can meet people of our own field who may be the one we turn tofor help when we need. To them, friends are sometimes more important than knowledge.[/font]
[font=微软雅黑]In conclusion, I think these are the main reasons thatpeople go to universities.[/font]
