With the rapid development of the technology, television is playing a significant role in our daily life, while I still agree that television has reduced connections among friends and family, owing to the too much time it costs, the possible bad effect it has, and the too broad circumstance it faces.
First of all, watching television takes one so much time that he or she will have little time to spend with their friends and family, since the time is limited actually. According to a record survey conducted by Chinese Academy of Social Science in 2007, about 65 persent of the people watch televison for more than 14 hours a week. Imagine that if we use this period of time to play tennis or go shopping with friends, what a harmonious atmosphere and a close relationship will be built. The data also shous that 71 percent of the participants who are crazy about watching television have some trouble with their family life more or less.
In addition, some coarse TV programs will have an adverse influence on people's morals. Indulged in such violent or vulgar scenes without discriminating them, one will probably put the indifference into the real life and conduct such behaviors. And also, many teenagers are addicted to the TV shows with fantacy of becoming super stars. They are kept on the edge of their seats, seldom to care about their study, their family and their friends. For instance, a 17-year-old girl left her home by herself after quarreling with her parents about their objection, just in order to take part in a TV live singer competition. Unfortunately, she turned out to be ruled out soon. This case illustrates that watching television will destroy the communication among people.
Another point should be emphasized is that television takes a too wide look at the whole world. Even though this will be helpful to broaden one's horizon, yet when people focus more on political affairs, commercial trades, and competition between two contestants, less attention will be paid to the people around them.
In conclusion, although television brings us a great many benefis, it still occupies much precious time and concludes some negative contents. All of above distracts the attach away from one's family and friends.
