第一篇作文,花了很久,请各位前辈指点

112 Some people think that children should begin their formal education at a very early age and should spend most of their time on school studies. Others believe that young children should spend most of their time playing. Compare these two views. Which view do you agree with? Why?

It is widely circulated that a genius started reading poem at 2, learning math at 3; then received a bachelor’s degree at 14 followed by a doctor's degree at 18. It is frequently known as well that an outstanding inventor did not accept any education until 12. in the light of these instances, I concede that starting formal education or just playing in one's early age does decided one’s further achievement, but it is still not of necessity.

As we all know, the most eminent characteristics of children are their curiosity, fast learning capacity and preference to playing. Formal education at a very early age may bring blessing to a child. An up-close tour of knowledge will stimulate children's thought and will lead them to various questions, such as "why stars are flashing?" "why birds fly in the sky but will not fall on the ground?" "What the poet wants to express?" and so forth. All these questions may impel them to move on a certain path giving into the fields of astronomy, biology or literature.

However, certain disadvantages do occur as most of their time spent on school studies. Imagine that a boy was, actually, interested in riding horse, while his parents sent him to an elementary school in a big city, which equipped with excellent faculties and superior facilities, but just has no field for horse riding. If the boy then forced to attend school 8 hours everyday, a shining star in riding field might therefore be mediocre.

Similarly, although playing will keep children healthy, shape their figures, and improve operating abilities, spending most of time on having fun is noting more than time consuming. Since children think little of inhibiting their activities, they are quite likely to indulge in the fun of playing. If it is the case, then such a child will be faced with certain obstacle at transferring to a pupil. This, to some children, is considered a disaster to their future.

As stated above, I take the position that neither school education nor playing need to occupy most of time of a child. For the reason that every one gains a unique combination of interests and abilities, allocating hours reasonably is a crucial and also efficient way for children's development.
