105. Students at universities often have a choice of places to live. They may choose to live in university dormitories, or they may choose to live in apartments in the community. Compare the advantages of living in university housing with the advantages of living in an apartment in the community. Where would you prefer to live? Give reasons for your preference.
When it comes to the issue whether one should choose to live in apartments in the community or the dormitories. Different people have diverse opinions according to their personal experiences. Some hold the opinion that one should live in a dormitory since it help them contact more with their classmates. While some others hold the opposite opinion and think living in a dormitory may encounter many problems. However, I think that students should live in a dormitory in the following reasons.
First, living in dormitory means more opportunities to meet students and make more friends. Once you choose to live in a dormitory, there would be surely a roommate who maybe become the best friend in your university. Moreover, there are a lot of other students living a same dormitory and more activities, such as parties, games, fire camps, to take part in together. These activities would enhance the friendship among you which may be a great help in your future career development. However, living outside school would miss all of these. Some friends of mine used to live outside school and they feeled being isolated from the school. Last year they moved in and even opened a party to celebrate.
Secondly, it is more convenient for students to go to classrooms and libraries. I think the studying is important for a student because it determines the future of the student in some extent. In china, when you try to get a job after your graduation, the companies would usually take your studying performances into account when they decide which one they should choose as an employee for them. Also, if you want to apply for further development such as a graduate degree, there would be an entrance exam that requires you to learn your courses well. As far as I am concerned, living in a dormitory would provide a more convenient circumstance for me to study.
Finally, it is true that there are some benefits living outside. Living in a dormitory may cause you some trouble. You have to always consider your roommate's feelings or it may destroy your friendship. For example, when your roommate goes to sleep, you should not make loud noise or it may disturb your roommate even he does not say anything about it. However, a coin has two sides, it may be beneficial too. It will help to develop the personality of consideration.
