Confucius, the greatest and most influential educator and philosopher of ancient China, was quoted in The Analect as saying,’ Apparently, as has been observed of the most formidable foe of the mother nature, human being, undoubtedly, preoccupies the first-place of all time.” By the same token, some persons champion the notion that human’s activity, despite bring about tremendous transformation to the land, has had prodigious negative impacts on the earth, whereas some persons may assert otherwise. (I steadfastly agree with the former group of people. The way I see it, human acitivities generate innumberable undesirable environmental consequences.)

For starers, human inappropriate activity give rise to the problem of global warming, which will plague contemporaries and future generations to a substantial extent. The direct reason of this catastrophe is of the over-consumption of fossil fuel, which is the major energy of automobile. Take my hometown, located on the Amido Plateau in China, for example. According to statistics which released by the Meteorology Society of Tibet Autonomous Region, indicates that the average temperature in June is approximate 26 centigrade, nontheless, with the modernization and industrialization of India, which joins the plateau, vast amounts of carbon dioxide was transmitted to my hometown. (Accordingly, recording-breaking drought and blistering heat waves hit my ever-refreshing hometown) Thousands of hectares of millet fields became fruitless, tens of thousands of livestocks starved to death, and the local economy touched the bottom of all but a decade.

In addition, the grand-scale of deforestation and desertification are the masterpieces of human acitivity. The Darfur region, which is known for poverty and race genocide, is a case in point. The everlasting deforestation and desertification play an contributory role in the acclerating violent between Arabian militia and obriginal Africans. The grounds for this tragedy lie in the fact that the harsh environment is not abundant and affluent enough to sustain the fundamental demand of local residents’ health and living. The more barren the region is, the more ferocious the conflict will be In this endless malicious ccirclr, the pathetic Sudanese became the victims of deteriorating natural environment.

Last but not least, the severe consequences of acid rain also take a heavy roll on the environment. April 10th, 2007, a group of  passionate and enthusiastical conversationists in China held a massive demonstration against the establishment of a chemical plant in Xiameng, a coastal city located in Southern China, which will discharge a wide variety of nitrogen oxides. As definite scientific evidences show that such pollutants are the main devil creator of acid rain, from worse to worst, such contaminated-water wreak havoc on the historic architecture and decisively lead to the death of fish and some varieties of poultries.

To sum up, human activity, nevertheless under the appropraite guideline of environmentally-friendly policy, still exert immense passive impacts on environment. Due to the  enedless list of environmental disaster, such as glaobal warming, deforestation, and acid rain, human being has put themselves on the path of decimation. The task left us to do is to streamline the efficency of energy and to minimize the side-effects of of human acitivty.  May God bless us.
