题目是Topic 36 A transportation vehicle that has changed people’s life.
Confucius, the greatest and most influential educator and philosopher of ancient China, was quoted in The Analect as saying,” A millennium ago, our ancestors pay tributes to the Son of Heaven by means of bare feet, now we display our respect by agent of horse-drawn chariot, I adore the scudding speed.” By the same token, vast numbers of persons nowadays admire automobile, the modern counterpart of former chriot, while others bolster other means of trasportation. The way I see it, I have to concede that I champion the former group, the automoboile is perferable to other means of transportation in several aspects.
For starers, the automobile is the symbol of convience and effeciency nowadays. Assuming New York is a metroplis without cars and cobs, for many New Yorkers, the life longest mile may be the stretch from Queens to Brooklyn, for it takes about a whole day on the bumping way to arrive the destination. The Big Apple will dramatically lost charisma and enchantment, which is intrinsic to the prosperity and survival of this conglomerate. In games and business alike, immense amount of opportunities will lost forever, due to the low effecieny. The city will defeinety be a combination of colorless life and unimaginative concrete forest.
In addition, the automobile has remolded the 20’s century. Henry Ford’s industry serves an apt illustration for this transformation. Ford established the mechanism of limited wage and system of car assembly-line which have had tremendous positive impacts not only on the quality of American living standard, but also on the overall-quality of federal’s economy. Furthermore, Ford’s greatest achievement is the genius invention of Ford T- model car, which ranked as No.1 selling car in the automobile’s history never before attainted and maybe never since surpass. Through the spread of T-model car, Ford ushered American into a new booming era and gave birth to a ermergening world giant. Ever since then, America’s Industry Rate Index occupies the first-place of globe economy for about half a century.
Last but not least, however effeciency and productivity the automobile industry has provided, some other side effects also offset the benefits to a startling extent, such as global warming. The main cause of the catsatrophy lies in the fact that cars consume fossil fuel, with the byproducts of burning them, which is the major contributor to the globe warming. A documentary filmed by a non-profit organization starring United States former vice president Al Gore, with the name of Inconvinient Truth vivdly illustates how severe the problem is. A number of coastal cities and tiny island already have been flooded by rasing-sea level, and the whole world is confronted with the challenge of abnormal whether, such as El Nino.
To sum up, the automobile transportation has changed our life to the level our predecessors could hardly imagine in terms of more convinient life, a more prosperous world, and of course, the disaster of global warming. Nevertheless, after weighing up all the pros and cons of the mixed blessing, there is no doubt that cars, the tiny little tank-like gadget has transform our lives magically, and the task left us is to maximize the benefits and minimize the drawbacks of this wonderful device.
