[font=Times New Roman]Because of the rapid development of modern society, students’ dormancy problem has been brought into focus recently. Here’s a survey stating that most of the students sleep less than 6 hours, which is far less than the standard of 8hours. I think the following factors give rise to such a phenomenon.[/font]
[font=Times New Roman]The first factor is too much homework, which is the most significant reason that causes the poor quality of the students’ dormancy. I didn’t mean to say homework is bad for us but too much homework actually has a bad effect on the students. As an old saying goes, interest is the best teacher. Too much homework would discourage students from taking an interest in study. We students start to realize that study is no more fun but just finish the home work all day long. We’ve already get tired of those homework which stack like a little mountain. A lot of students couldn’t finish the homework until midnight, which strongly influences our quality of dormancy. They are worried about couldn’t hand in the homework in time and get sick of it. They start to hate studying and try to avoid the homework. Their academic achievement is definitely getting worse and worse. What’s more, the worse they did in the test, the less confidence they have. Sooner or later, they will get into a bad circulation. It is the homework that gets students into trouble. Maybe you would be surprised but that is true. That’s the true feeling in the bottom of our hearts. What we want is to totally understand the topic, not doing practice again and again to become a test machine. I never remain suspicious of the benefit that homework brings to us. But just make it limited and let us have more free time to allocate by ourselves. [/font]

The second factor is that schools and a lot of parents pay too much attention on our academic grade. I have to say grade is a very important factor to judge a student’s academic achievement. But it’s not the only one. I mean creativity, leadership, people skill, a lot more. Those are also very important to us. Just a number on the paper can never tell you he/she is a good student or a bad student. Because of the high expectation of the parents and schools, we students are actually burden with the grade we get. We tried so hard but such is life, that reality is always conflict with our willingness. Maybe there’s a scientific explanation called mentality. You can’t do anything well if you’re too nervous. Just let us feeling relaxed and maybe we can achieve a higher grade in a good condition. What’s more, I think to have a healthy body is the most important. You can do nothing if you don’t have a healthy body. So, that will bring us back to the point which I mentioned: dormancy. It’s widely acknowledged that dormancy is essential to everyone’s health. Having a good sleep can actually bring us more energy the next day, and we can be more efficient to face our study. [/font]

Less homework! Be more concerned about our health. Only in this way, can we make a better future.[/font]
