It is a commonsense that a teacher plays a very crucial role in education because a there are nearly 20 years for a person to get knowledge,especially theos basic ones such as linguistics,basic moral and so on from his/her teachers.That is to say,a teacher may totally influence a person even all his life.So, there will always be some debates about what is important for a teacher to impart to his students.It is often discussed that it is important to help students to get self-confidence or to teach them specific knowledge.According to my experirence,I would definitely argue that is should be depended on the different situation of study to draw the conclusion.[/font]

During the period of a student’s study,he/she will meet all kinds of matters contained both happy and sad.So a good teacher should choose different method to deal with the student according to the mood of him/her.When he/she seems to be happy,the teacher could put emphasise on teaching them the specific knowledge,on the contrast,the teacher should help them get confidence when they feel bad.[/font]

In that case,I think that my math teacher in high school did a very good job at educating me.Let time come back to the third year of my high school.I will never forget the scene that my math teacher talked with me when I failed in my math exam.I was so frustrated by the low score I got int the mid exam of the fall term.That time for me and every students was so important that we could not tolerate any failure because the terminal eaxm which decides our fate would come.The pity score
was like the king of terror and I nearly lost my confidence to go on.At that time,my math teacher,a very strict man,called me to his office and talked with me very kind and helped me analyze the fault of my paper carefully.At last he told me,Nobody can stop you from being success,unless you gie up!Yes,It really gave me much confidence again and I continued my study with high cofindence and finally I got a very high score in the final exam.With the score,I got the famous university in Beijing and I appreiciate my math teacher very much.[/font]

All in all,imparting specific knowledge is improtant of course,but sometimes,such as the condition like me discussed above,helping students to get confidence plays a more major role.From what has been discussed above,we can draw the conclusion that which is more important should be decided by the situation at present.[/font]
