we probably all wonder how a new word gets into the dictionary.a'U&eD'Bl3o5Yv
take the word D for exampel, spell doofus,meaning the stupid or [b]incompetent[/b] person.
this word which have been around since late 1960 [b]in  slang sence[/b]$e!d[0T[ObeWq
made in MW college dictinary only in 1993 why did it take so long?
well [b]first of all[/b], dictionary editor like to wait as least 3 year to be sure word is going to last  7Rg5WG,V;?'S
especial , [b]a slang word.[/b]
they dont want to put in a new word [b]prematurely[/b] and they have to take it out next dictionary.
but even for word that [b]are n't slang,[/b] geting into dictionary isnt easy. new words have to  pass a lot of  [b]editorial[/b] test ,including how diff or easy they are to look up,
it also[b] a limte[/b] to how thick dictionary can be.:`R.u&}})_S

some word have to go out before some can go in .

but it take out only 100.so [b]choice[/b] have to be made very carefully.
