53. Is money the most important aspect of a job?

Have you always quarreled with your disagreeable or even hostile colleagues at working time? Have you always worked over time to nearly ten o’clock at night even without dinning? If so, although you might have a high salary, you could hardly be satisfied with your job. Currently, while the common people equate money to success, from my perspective, I would argue that the relationship with colleagues and balance between profession and personal life are of more essence to the job.

For one thing, the relationship between co-workers plays a significant role in a work. Cooperating with people who make you disgust, you will find that they simply make you could gain little joy from work. My brother, for example, who once worked in a well-known advertisement company, had a high wage from that work. Nevertheless, he never felt successful and had pleasure in his work on account of the indignity from his repulsive supervisor, a middle-aged woman who rarely smiles. In this term, this experience of spending amount of time in that environment with that hostile people is utterly a horrible memory in one’s life. This side-effect can not be by a mere high salary.

For another, the equilibrium between occupation and individual’s life is, also, of great importance to a work. We just work for a better life, but life is not work only. My father, used to be clerk in government, spent most of his time in his work. Yet the end result of this is that he rarely be concerned with my study and ignored teaching me at home because of busily considering his work. The overtime work, under some circumstances, cause so amount of employees cannot have sufficient time to stay with their family, or even divorce. In this sense, the missing of family, too, cannot be compensated by a high income.

Sometimes the majority claim that high salary could be most crucial aspect of a job for example it could lead us a better life physically. I would say, alternatively, a harmonious interpersonal relationship and balance of job and personal life even serve the purpose both mentally and physically.

In conclusion, while admitting that a high salary has its advantages, I would emphasize the priority in comparing with the pros and cons by a harmonious interpersonal relationship and balance of profession and personal life.
