第一次写作文。。。没什么思路。。06年10月机经里的一篇文章。。。

1、        Do you agree or disagree that it is difficult to discover the truth of news or information since there is too much of them.

For most of the time, we are always on the arduous journey in seeking for the answer of this question: if it is difficult to discover the truth of news or information around us. Some people argue that we can easily find the fact of an event while others may not agree. From my personal angle alone, the latter point coincides with mine. Finding the truth from a lot of information is too difficult.
First of all, some reporting of the entertainment news is only for the purpose of speculation and sometimes we don’t know if all the information is true. For example, there are a mass of news about Britney who is a famous American singer on the internet. Some media said that Britney was sent to hospital because of the mental illness and we also can see from some website that Britney’s new album will be finished. As audiences, we can’t know if Britney was in hospital or was preparing for her new album and we just pay more attention to Britney. And the more concern to Britney or these websites is the final purpose of these Medias’ reporting of the news.
Secondly, the situation around people may affect people’s judgment. For instance, what will you do if all the people around you recommend you to read a book? What will you do when you want to travel to a place but all your friend who had ever been there told you it’s too bad to visit there? What will you do if one person leaves a bad impression for you but a lot of people consider him as a good guy? Maybe all the people will be affected by the information from the people around them. But what is the truth? Is the book or the place or the person really good or bad? It’s too difficult to judge.
Finally, the different position of the media may lead to different report for a same event. Take the CNN and the CCTV as an example, CNN was a media that representative of the interests of the United States and when the CNN reported the violence in Tibet they cut some of the picture to hide the truth that thugs had attacked the police and said this event wasn’t a violent action. But soon the CCTV had reported the truth that this violence was caused by some organization and let all the people see the whole picture. But what will the people all over the world think of this event? Some media’s wrong report may affect some people’s judgment.
From what has been discussed above, we may reasonably draw a conclusion that it’s really difficult for people to discover the truth of a news or information because the effects come from everywhere.
