Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Games are as important for adults as they are for children? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

When it refers to whether games are of the same importance to adults as they are to children, people’s standpoints are divergent on such a controversial issue. Some, especially the overwhelming majority of housewives, would insist that the adults’ playing games may be the waste of time. Others, however, hold the totally negative attitude. They perceive that the game is beneficial to persons no matter how old s/he is. After pondering this question on many occasions, I finally reached the conclusion that playing game is something worth to do not only just for children, but also for grownups. Some conspicuous aspects are as follows.

At the risk of something to simplistic, it seems to me that the main proposition for the acquisition of the game for adults is that people relax themselves during the game time. Give that children play games for body building up, adults need games for mental relax. Nine modern citizens out of ten are suffering too much pressure nowadays and every doctor will advise them to do more exercises. Since they are fanny exercises, which persons are more likely to take part in, games play a more significant roll in mental relaxation. To give a demonstration, one who is completely frustrates by his tedious jobs, such as accounting issues, human resource problems, even complex mathematical calculates, may wholly depart with them in the thirty minutes during the football game.

Another reason why I advocate for the viewpoint is that games would give one a stage to communicate with others, just like children chatting with peers during the game time. In the adults’ world, hardly is most game taken part in by just several persons in the same region. Some games can attract world wide people. For instance, the computer game, C.S that fascinates millions of people has been recognized as a good tool to practice oral English. Thanks to the variety of language-speaking users, they need to communicate in English.

Thirdly, the game playing can raise one’s self-confidence. Still take football for example. If one could use strategy fluently in the game and have a good cooperation with his team members, not only can he realize the spirit of team work, but he can also confidently think:” I can do things well!” In a word, it pays to play games in the long run. Adults, however, have numerous jobs to maintain. Consequently, they should have the time well distributed. Only in this circumstance can they fully enjoy the pleasure generated by games.
